Mainfreight has been a global partner since the organization's origins in 1994. The CaroTrans Houston team enjoyed working with Books in Homes USA at Reed Academy. A free book fair was held allowing each student to collect books of their choice.

US Customs & Border protection has eliminated the use of "pallet" as a packaging type for shipping instructions - instead requiring such items to be listed as "skids."

CaroTrans will increase its hazardous minimum by $100 to all destinations except those in the Middle East. In addition to this increase, the current hazardous charges in place will now apply to lithium-ion batteries being exported as non-hazardous under Special Provision 188.
