LCL Export Advisory - Sporting Goods
Issue Date: April 18, 2022In response to issues related to mis-declared goods that result in fines and diversions - which greatly impact already strained movement of goods - CaroTrans will no longer accept the commodity description of "Sporting Goods" without accompanying Harmonized System (HS) Codes. Additional information including, but not limited to, the commercial invoice may be requested in order to prevent such instances from occurring to ensure operational flow is maintained.
In addition to the above, any booking for a commodity that is under HS Code heading 93xx will require pre-approval from the underlying carrier and must be submitted with a complete commodity description, invoice, and packing list. CaroTrans will also ensure such commodities are accepted at destination with our offices and partners.
