Client Advisory 26-003 Middle East Operational Disruptions
March 11, 2026
The latest operational update from our regional partner, CSS, provides new guidance for LCL cargo moving to/through the UAE. As carriers continue redirecting vessels to Khor al Fakkan (AEKLF) and Al Fujayrah (AEFJR) instead of Jebel Ali (AEJEA), the revised destination charges and service conditions below are now in effect.
These updates apply specifically to LCL consolidated containers discharged at AEKLF or AEFJR before final movement into AEJEA or onward to GCC destinations.
Updated LCL Destination Charges - Jebel Ali Imports
Below are the revised charges applicable for shipments impacted by diversions to AEKLF or AEFJR:
• Standard Destination Fees
• As per existing agreements
• Bonded Movement Fee (AEKLF/AEFJR > AEJEA)
• USD 100 W/M (LCL Shipments Consolidated in a 40’ Container)*
• USD 180 W/M (LCL Shipments Consolidated in a 20’ Container)*
• Emergency Surcharge Fee
• USD 68 per HBL
• Line Demurrage / Port Storage
• Pro rata basis (if applicable)
• War Risk Surcharge
• Pro rata basis (if applicable)
These charges reflect the added handling, inland transfers, and risk related expenses associated with diversions away from AEJEA and will be billed to the consignee.
LCL Service Status for GCC Destinations
LCL services from Jebel Ali into GCC markets have resumed. For shipments already loaded and currently en route, the following updated rates now apply through March 31, 2026:
| POL | POD | Ocean Freight | Bonded Movement | Validity |
| AEJEA | BHBAH | USD 105 W/M | *Outlined Above | 03.31.26 |
| AEJEA | KWSWK | USD 105 W/M | *Outlined Above | 03.31.26 |
| AEJEA | SADMM | USD 100 W/M | *Outlined Above | 03.31.26 |
| AEJEA | SARUH | USD 130 W/M | *Outlined Above | 03.31.26 |
| AEJEA | QAHMD | USD 105 W/M | *Outlined Above | 03.31.26 |
These adjustments account for the additional documentation and handling required when containers are discharged at AEKLF or AEFJR before onward connection to/through AEJEA.
Important Notes
• Hazardous and chemical cargo are not accepted at this time.
• Only UAE discharge cargo and the GCC destinations listed above are currently eligible.
